Job description

Our client is a major player of the payment industry, and they are actively looking for an experienced PL/SQL developer to support the data collection team. The data collection squad interacts with various data sources. Those data sources are exposed to different DWH entries.
Transaction Data Collection mission: Enable analysts and products to deliver high quality data analytics, by automatically collecting confidential transaction data and providing well-governed near real-time streams, in a constantly decreasing lead-time

What you'll do

• Design, develop, test, and support applications in line with agreed requirements
  
  
• Work with the customer and the analyst to review requirements and propose design options for implementing the solution; challenge the requirements when needed and ensure they are in line with the roadmap; present the options with cost and benefits and jointly agree on the implementation approach to take
• Provide timing/scheduling estimates and propose corrective actions to timelines when necessary
• Implement and test the solution according to the requirements, following the team and company standards, best practices and guidelines, and deliver high quality output
• Effectively communicate development progress to the team and raise the alarm immediately when deviating from the plan
• Provide support and technical assistance to team members and internal customers
  
  
• Run or assist in technical feasibility studies, prototypes, and proof of concepts
• Develop and maintain high quality technical documentation and prepare and give presentations to internal customers
  
• Assist with enhancing and maintaining the development and testing framework; take initiative to further automate and optimize where possible
  
• Participate in team activities and team planning with the aim of improving team skills, awareness and quality of work
  
• Coach junior members of the team
  
• As part of a scrum team, be flexible to temporarily take on other assignments (analysis, prototyping, testing, training, support,…)

Profile

• At least 10 years’ experience in IT solutions design and implementation
  
• University bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or related Engineering discipline
• Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills, with excellent English, both written and spoken
• Well-structured, rigorous and organized, able to prioritize and focus on the most important issues at hand and capable of thriving in a fast paced, goals and deadlines driven environment
• Passionate about change & improvement, with constant challenge of the status quo, having demonstrated aptitudes for learning new technologies quickly
• Excellent customer-centric team player and team builder with strong interpersonal skills, willing to work in a multicultural environment and able to lead, coach and groom other team members

Required skills

• Strong experience in data engineering and software development practices
• Proven experience of Oracle development: SQL, PL/SQL, advanced performance tuning and DBA skills; Java development is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to influence and consult (providing options with pros, cons and risks) around all key technical decisions during project delivery
  
• Experience working in an Agile development (scrum) context, with hands-on experience on Agile tools (JIRA, Confluence, …) and CICD development& deployment tools (Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, Git, …)
• Good experience in architectural design, storage and resiliency concepts
• Strong understanding of advanced security concepts and implementation (SSL, PKI, LIT, OWASP, encryption, masking, …)
• Good understanding of identity & access management, authentication & authorisation is a plus (LDAP, Active Directory, Radius, federation, SAML, …)
  
• Experience with scripting language (Unix Shell, Perl, Python, …)
• Experience in manual & automated testing
• Good understanding of networking concepts is a plus (TCP/IP, VPN, reverse proxies, firewalls, …)
