Job description

We are looking for a Test Engineer / Electromechanical engineer in the railway industry to test upgrades/implementations of hardware & software.

 On Site Testing & commissioning activities

What you'll do

  • Testing activities in roll-out phase & commissioning:
    1. Preparation of configuration and testing activities (including organization), create test- specification and reports
    2. Organisation, configuration, and support to Infrabel for lab test activities in Huizingen.
    3. Data downloading activities on site and configuration of trackside equipment (ETCS L2 balises)
    4. Configuration, SW-update and verifications of Computer Room components- (RBC cabinet).
    5. Configuration of IT Network compon
  • Site engineering activities after commissioning phase:
    1. Support Infrabel in “putting into service” activities.
    2. Technical support to on site activities & troubleshooting
    3. Participation to the guard duty + interventions (24/24 – 7/7)

Profile

  • Education level: min Bachelor electronics & automatization, electromechanics
  • Ability to analyses processes and architectures in details as well as with a high-level view.
  • Ability to read & interpret of technical & electrical plans (railway)
  • Experience in testing and commissioning activities, preferably in industrial environments (railway environment is a plus)
  • A first professional working experience is required because of the complexity of the project environment (many stakeholders, various interactions, complex technological/technical setup). However, a young graduated motivated and eager to learn could be coached.
  • Basis Experience/knowledge in IT & Networking connectivity and use of ICT applications and tools
  • Knowledge of interlocking/signaling system & ETCS is a plus
  • Experience with signaling installation works, preferably for a railway infrastructure operator, is a plus
  • Experience in working in Cenelec SIL projects is a plusVCA-B certificate is required
  • BA4/BA5 ability certification (bekwaamheidsattest)
    Drivers licence B

Required skills

  • English, Dutch or/and French
  • Accuracy, rigor and safety minded (a safety related error can lead to an accident, errors can also lead to operational incident such train delays)
  • Flexibility - activities to be performed in day, night & week-end shifts, both planned and unplanned (guard duty). On average 2 planned nights per month but can vary between 0% to 50% of working time.
  • Experienced with use of ICT-tools and applications for testing & commissioning is a plus.
  • Classroom training or on the job training.
