Job description

For our client, a global leader in the Railway industry, Harvey Nash is looking for a Purchasing Officer to join a vibrant team. This role will be on a one-year contract position that will become permanent.

What you'll do

• • Reviews and processes purchase orders
• • Maintains purchase records
  
• • Negotiates prices and contracts with suppliers
• • Communicate accordingly with Technical Project Managers.
  
• • Selects prospective vendors and negotiates contracts.
• • Evaluates vendors based on quality, timeliness, and price.
• • Schedules deliveries and ensures timely fulfilment of orders.
• • Researches and evaluates vendors to compare pricing and services.
• • Coordinates with fellow managers to monitor inventory and determine supply needs.
• • Ensures quality of procured items and addresses problems when they arise.
• • Keeps up with trends in procurement.
• • Stays current with purchasing technology trends and oversees purchase and implementation, as necessary
• • Ensure compliance with SLAs

Profile

• • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent by experience
• • 5+ years’ experience as a purchasing officer/ agent.
• • Experience using procurement software and databases.
• • Experience in the Railway industry is a strong asset.
• • Fluency in Dutch AND French. English/ German would be an asset
