Job description

Context

In order to adapt to the fast-changing Belgian Energy market, and to realize its strategic ambitions, has designed a Corporate Transformation Roadmap. In there, IT is a key enabler for many of the initiatives defined. Projects Related to Asset Optimization (Flexibility management & Ancillary services) and Generation are delivered by the OptiGen Release train.

In the scope of the OptiGen Release train, the Boost Project is one of the Strategic initiatives of Short Term Optimisation to comply with the Icaros & Mari protocols implemented by Elia. A joined team of Business and IT is delivering the overall project.

Mission

The Functional Analyst is responsible for the design, documentation and implementation of business processes in our technology landscape. The functional analyst respects timelines and budgets in order to support the core business processes of the Organization in line with the business needs and quality requirements.
He/she collaborates closely with Business and IT stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
He/she ensures quality of delivered solutions and consistency with the envisioned design by performing Functional/Feature Acceptance testing. He/She coaches the business users during the User Acceptance Testig phases of the delivered solutions.
He/she provides estimates about the time and efforts related to the design and the development of the solution
LIST of activities

In cooperation with the Architecture team and under the supervision of the Lead Business analyst, the Functional Analyst will:

· Support to prioritize business requirements according to functional and technical constraints

· Translate business requirements into technical and functional designs in collaboration with the architecture practice.

· Translate business needs into efficient logical data model. This can be both the initial set-up of a LDM and adapting an existing one.

· Evaluate the feasibility of the different solution always keeping in mind the quality, the cost and the future proof technical evolution of the applications

· Review and approve documentation and code development by means of Functional acceptance test execution.

· Validate integration tests strategy and descriptions

Background and skills

· hold a higher educational background in economics or information technology;

· have at least 1 year of professional experience in an analytical job working on larger IT projects;

· can demonstrate a successful experience in business and/or functional analysis, design and implementation of change projects.

· can translate complex business requirements into solid functional specifications, based on your thorough understanding of the business context;

· possess strong structuring & analytical skills;

· able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;

· communicate effectively on all levels of the company both inside IT and the business in English, Dutch and/or French.

· knowledge of Short-Term Power Optimisation, Ancillary Services, iCAROS, MARI, ... is considered a major advantage

· understanding of agile delivery methodologies is considered a plus.
