Job description
Our client is currently looking for a proactive and thinking Cobol Analyst Developer. He/She will be part of a mainframe team that is responsible for all IT delivery for the domain 'Client'. This team is transversal which means that you will be in contact with all departments in the entire P&V Group.
As Cobol Analyst Developer, you are someone who can work in a dynamic and sometimes demanding environment and you are familiar with Agile delivery.

The Cobol Analyst Developer will build on an existing application, but also integrate with new decentralised systems such as Human Inference and Datahub, as well as applications in the cloud such as Salesforce.

You will work in a close-knit team where each individual is appreciated for his/her abilities and skills.
What you’ll do
  • With regard to system development, the Cobol Analyst Developer will be responsible for writing, improving and testing programs based on detailed analyses; performing integration, regression, as well as performance tests to check consistency and interaction with the other components of the applications;
  • You will translate the functional analysis into a technical analysis in order to create a framework within which the system will be realized, and draw up a global and documented technical analysis;
  • You will support the IT team in developing an acceptance test environment and supporting the users in carrying out these tests; critically analyzing the results and making (or having made) the necessary adjustments;
  • The Cobol Analyst Developer will also look into implementing and following up innovations (programmes, parameterisation, documentation, etc.), taking into account possible interactions with other domains and after approval by the business, provide technical support for the implementation of important projects.
Required Skills
  • Experience with drawing up a technical analysis (preferably UML) and with development in Mainframe environment (COBOL, PL/1, DB2, Datacom, CICS...) are must-haves;
  • You have elaborate experience with JCL creation and mainframe tools, as well as with KAN/ALM and Ecllipse, as knowledge of test methodology;
  • Knowledge of PRINCE2 and one versioning systems (subversion, svn, git...) are nice to haves, as well as experience with Jira and Agile/SCRUM;
  • You show a great interest in the insurance sector;
  • You are well versed in Dutch or French with a good English knowledge.
