Job description

The Customer Services Unit offers customers in the rail mobility industry a unique solutions portfolio over the entire lifecycle. The measures range from reliable supply of spare parts to smart data services – like real-time monitoring of trains and Infrastructure, prediction of wear and comprehensive analysis of complex vehicle and signalling problems.

Customer Services Unit Belgium supports service-related topics for the Mobility division for the Market of Belgium and Luxembourg. Customer Services aims to make rail operations even more efficient with innovative technologies at all levels (Rolling stock and Rail Infrastructure) and providing our customers with excellent maintenance services.

The present position is situated in the domain of the Siemens rail control system called ‘EBP’ and in use, nation-wide, for the Belgian rail infrastructure manager. A team of specialized IT resources is supporting the customer in the management and maintenance of this nation-wide IT system. This consist of helping the customer in the definition of new architecture (network/hardware/IT security) as well as in doing all the necessary preventive (from cleaning activities to roll-out of new SW upgrades and renewal of hardware) and corrective maintenance work in the different computer rooms and control rooms.

What you'll do

  • You will manage all phases of multiple small to medium sized projects; requirement, analysis, development, testing, pilot, training, implementation and controlling phase
  • You are responsible for the proper management of scope, schedule, finance, risk, quality and resources.
  • You will gather a good understanding of the needs of the customer to translate them appropriately for the internal stakeholders. This entails maintaining and building excellent relationships with the customer and with your internal colleagues.
  • You will ensure that the procedures are followed by working within the established project management framework, A proper documentation is key within the same.
  • You will closely monitor progress and customer satisfaction.
  • You will support and challenge internal teams to deliver “best value for money”.
  • You will be supported in your tasks by a quality manager, scrum masters and line management.

Profile

  • You have a BS or MA degree in Informatics, Business Engineering, Engineering or equivalent by experience
  • You have at least 5y of experience in project and/or change management. Experience with lean management is a strong asset.
  • You have several years of experience in a “IT Infrastructure” setting, preferably High-available, -risk environments.
  • You have a positive and proactive personality with a critical and analytical mindset
  • You are a highly adaptable, well-organized and stress-resilient person
  • You have excellent communication skills and can translate stakeholder’s needs into the appropriate solutions. You like to negotiate, listen, understand, convince, and spar stakeholders.
  • In order to communicate properly with all stakeholders, you speak fluently Dutch and/or French with a good level of English. German is a plus.
