Senior DevOps Engineer / Platform Engineer (Media Infrastructure) - Dutch C2 required

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a Media Infrastructure team responsible for the technology backbone that enables the creation, management, storage, and delivery of media content.

This role goes beyond traditional infrastructure operations. You will help drive the evolution of the team towards a platform engineering model, building reliable, secure, and self-service infrastructure platforms that empower development and operational teams to work independently.

You will work in a complex environment where critical media systems run 24/7 and where reliability, automation, standardization, and simplicity are key success factors.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Development & System Analysis

  • Analyze existing platforms, applications, and workflows.
  • Document complex systems, integrations, dependencies, interfaces, and data flows.
  • Design and implement self-service platform capabilities for internal teams.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify architectures and reduce operational complexity.
  • Support the transformation towards a modern platform engineering approach.

Infrastructure & Automation

  • Manage and optimize Linux-based infrastructure environments.
  • Build and maintain automation solutions to deploy and manage applications.
  • Improve platform reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code and configuration management best practices.
  • Proactively monitor systems and resolve issues before they impact operations.

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing

  • Work closely with product, operations, and engineering teams.
  • Gather requirements and translate them into reusable platform services.
  • Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation.
  • Act as a technical advisor within the team and contribute to architectural decisions.
  • Promote standardization, knowledge sharing, and operational excellence.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Linux System Engineer, Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role.
  • Linux (preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux)
  • Red Hat ecosystem
  • Ansible Automation Platform
  • Foreman
  • Docker and/or Podman
  • Kubernetes and/or OpenShift
  • Python scripting
  • Git
  • CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Bitbucket, or equivalent)
  • Infrastructure monitoring tools (Nagios, CheckMK, or similar)
  • Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum or Kanban).
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to quickly understand and document complex technical environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Fluent Dutch (C2 level).
