For our client, a leader in the Railway industry in Belgium, we are looking for a Site Survey Engineer to work on some of the most innovative solutions in the industry.

What you'll do

  • Participation in the Site Survey preparation meeting:

    The goal of this meeting is to check that the input documents have been correctly understood by the Site Survey team. Practically, the Site Survey Engineer will make sure he understands the expectations of design,PM and SSV Lead, with regards to:
    o The input documents.
    o The elements identified in scope of the Site Survey.
    o Checking accessibility of data and availability of the input information in the OCT. (Onsite Collaboration Tool)
  • Participation in the site survey:
    o Performing measurements in the track with either measurement wheel or GPS (OCT) and marking positions of elements in the track with paint marker and spray
    o Perform his measurements and marking in a correct way according instructions of the Site Survey Lead of the Site Survey
    o Responsible for the correct execution of measurements and markings according to the Site Survey Procedure IL.
    o Collection of information that is relevant to the design and/or ins
  • Assisting in the preparation of the site survey report, by transferring notes, reviewing OCT output, verifying measurement notes.
  • Performs their work in a safe way, respecting the imposed EHS rules. Has a pro-active and safe attitude (Zero Harm) and insists colleagues and customers act in a safe way by acting safely.

Profile

  • Awareness of the importance of correct execution of the site survey: measurements and marking
  • Familiarity with railway plans- Comfortable interpreting plans
  • Familiarity with interlocking components

  • Focus on personnel safety (EHS)
  • Highly interested in the use of digital tools and GPS for execution of site survey activities

Required skills

  • Accuracy, rigor and safety minded (a safety related error can lead to an accident)
  • Respect of execution instructions (railway safety environment SIL4)
  • Expected language skills :
    o Dutch (min C1 - Effective operational proficiency or advanced) and/or
    o French (min C1 - Effective operational proficiency or advanced)
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Can operate as a teamplayer
  • Use of measurement wheel on the tracks
  • Experience in use of digital tools (Tablet, Applications, GPS)
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with the most wide-spread electronic office equipment (word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, internet, etc.);
